WHAT IS ESCROW?

 

Escrow is a process that evolved to ensure the protection for all parties to a real estate transaction.  A “neutral” third party or “stakeholder” is nominated to hold the funds and documents until the purchaser receives appropriate assurance that the property has been transferred.  

 

Today, the escrow of a property is overseen by an escrow officer,

like Marlen Videz, Senior Escrow Officer and Escrow Manager,

employed by an independent escrow company, like KPL

Select Escrow, Inc. or title company.  All parties are protected

because the escrow holder, like KPL Select Escrow, Inc., will

retain the funds and documents until all the instructions are fulfilled.
